FAQ

Q. Why doesn’t XXXX game show up in Rominator? It’s a retail game!
A. The database most likely hasn’t been updated yet. It gets updated every Saturday, so have patience for the next update.

Q. Where can I get XXXX game?
A. Don’t ask me. I do not condone software piracy and do not have any information for you. Any requests asking for games will be ignored, and your email address will be blocked.

Q. Why does Rominator takes a long time to load my game list?
A. You have too many games. There is a lot of data to load for each game, so if you have many games in one list, and a slower machine, you’ll notice some slowdown. Rominator is meant to manage the games you own, not an entire collection of games. You don’t own 2,000 DS games.

Q. Where can I find the Rominator Data if I don’t have it in the same location as the program?
A. Here’s the locations for each operating system. If you are using an unsupported OS, then I can’t help you on that.
Mac OS X: ~username\Library\Preferences\Rominator Data
Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\~username\Application Data\Rominator Data
Windows Vista: C:\Documents and Settings\~username\AppData\Roaming\Rominator Data

Q. Can you add XXXX feature?
A. Submit it through Rominator Feedback so it’s tracked. If I feel it’s a good addition, it may get put on the to-do list. If not, I’ll let you know why not.

Q. Can I use Rominator on a flash drive with the settings in the same folder as the program?
A. Sure you can! Create a folder called Rominator Data in the same location as the program, and that location will be used for data storage instead of the Preferences/Application Data folder.

Q. Rominator deleted all my games!
A. Rominator doesn’t delete your games without your consent. If you held the Shift key and deleted them, you are given a warning letting you know you are about to permanently delete the selected games. If you accept it without reading, Rominator cannot be held accountable.

Q. Why does it take some time to flash a FAQ over to my CycloDS Evolution?
A. Rominator needs to process the FAQ for usage on the card, and needs to be formatted accordingly. If you are flashing over a large FAQ, it will take a small amount of time to be processed. If in the future the CycloDS Evolution supports text wrapping, then the FAQ processing will be instant, but until then it needs to be pre-processed before flashing.
