Save Defender
Perhaps the largest bonus feature in Rominator, Save Defender is an auto-backup system for your save game files. It will perform incremental backups of your save game files as they are changed, and will allow you to restore any save game you had at any point in time when a backup was created. To begin using this awesome feature, open up ‘Save Defender’ from the Tools menu.

- A - Enable Save Defender: If you want to begin protecting your save data, you will need to enable Save Defender.
- B - Choose Flash Card: Here is the list of all the flash cards being protected by Save Defender as well as the option to add in a new card.
- C - Last Backup: This will show the last date and time a backup of your flash card was automatically performed.
- D - Date Slider: Use the slider to select a date to view a snapshot of how your flash card looked at a certain date.
- E - Time Slider: After you’ve selected a date, pick a time that you want to rewind to and view the save data contents for that specific time.
- F - Backup Date: This is the date and time selected based on the sliders above.
- G - Save List: Here is what save files existing at a specific date and time, as well as their last modification date.
- H - Status: Will show the status of save file exporting.
- I - Restore: You can restore one or multiple saves from the Save List from any date and time.
Save Defender Tutorial
1. Adding Your Flash Card

First you’ll need to enable Save Defender by clicking off the checkbox. From there, click on the dropdown marked ‘Choose Flash Card’ and select ‘...Add Card to Save Defender’

From here, if you do not have your flash card inserted, insert it now. If you have not configured your flash card in the game lists yet, you will need to do that first. I have already set up my CycloDS card and have inserted it, and it has appeared in Save Defender. Select the flash card, and follow the prompts. Save Defender will need to make an initial backup of all your save data.

After the initial backup has completed, just hit the Finish button. You will be taken back to the Save Defender window.
2. Managing Backed Up Save Games
Now that our flash card is set up in Save Defender, select the card from the list.

You will see the last backup date, as well as the files that were processed during the initial backup. You can restore these files at any time if you ever lose them, or your card corrupts them. From here, Rominator is now protecting this flash card, so if you were to play a game and update the save data, Rominator would create a new backup time for the selected day. Rominator will not re-copy every save over, but instead will only copy any modified saves while showing exactly what saves were on your flash card at a certain point in time. Save Defender is a great way to make sure you never lose your precious save data!
What if I delete my flash card but what to carry on using Save Defender with another flash card?
Simple! If your flash card is ever deleted and you run Save Defender, it will tell you that the flash card doesn’t exist, and it will allow you to reassign the Save Defender profile to another card!

Hit the ‘Yes’ button, and you will be able to assign the Save Defender profile to another flash card set up in Rominator. If you don’t want to assign it right now, that is fine too -- You will still be able to browse through the Save Defender data and restore any save files from any backup point.
